Music for a While

If music be the food of love,
Sing on till I am fill’d with joy;
For then my list’ning soul you move
To pleasures that can never cloy.
Your eyes, your mien, your tongue declare
That you are music ev’rywhere. William Shakespeare

Already in its 18th year, music+ rings out the old and rings in the new, quietly but powerfully, together with an ever increasing number of music enthusiasts: Stillness at New Year, instead of noise. The Ensemble Laudonia, a group made up of two young Austrians (Julia Fritz and Christoph Urbanetz) and two British musicians perform ancient music from England as well as celebrated works, and some surprises, by György Ligeti, Luciano Berio (Gesti 1966) and Heiner Goebbels, artistic director of the RuhrTriennale from 2013–2015 and winner of the International Ibsen Prize (2012), one of the world’s most important awards for theatrical work.

Look forward to a wonderful evening with us and be prepared for some surprises!
