What happens when people are transformed into holograms and trapped in a time loop, condemned to repeat the same actions over and over again?

A fugitive is hiding on an island, which is visited by tourists. His initial fear of discovery gives way to feelings of love for one of the visitors. He would like to express his feelings, but he cannot communicate with them, and they cannot see him. A certain Morelt has created a machine that can record and reproduce all the human senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. It is able to capture and recreate the soul. From the arrival of the tourists, the machine records all their activities. After their departure, their images live on for ever in a time loop. The fugitive’s initial horror at this “new kind of photographs” gives way to joy at what is the only way for him to remain close to his love. Pierre Jodłowski’s composition is a play on this story. Using shadow play, real-time video looping and dynamic projections, he creates an unstable environment in which it becomes increasingly difficult to clearly distinguish human roles and functions. Images obscure images, sounds obscure sounds in a continuous state of transformation that makes each element part of a fragile balance.
